Head east from Auckland to the stunning Coromandel Peninsula. Arrive at Hahei village -the gateway to Cathedral Cove. Spend the afternoon kayaking, swimming, or exploring. As the sun sets, head to Hot Water Beach where you can dig your own personal hot pool in the sand at low tide. Evening free time in Hahei.
Morning drive south through the Waikato. Stop at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland (entry included) -an otherworldly landscape of boiling mud pools, rainbow-coloured lakes, and the famous Lady Knox Geyser which erupts daily at 10:15am. Continue to Rotorua for the night.

Drive south to Matamata for a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set -the actual filming location used in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. Explore the 44 original Hobbit Holes, the Mill, and enjoy a complimentary beverage at the Green Dragon Inn. Continue to the shores of mighty Lake Taup -New Zealand's largest lake -for sunset views over the volcanic plateau. Optional: evening sailing cruise.

Head to the legendary Waitomo Cave system. Choose your level of adventure -from the gentle Glowworm Cave guided tour to full blackwater rafting (abseiling, jumping off underground waterfalls, and floating through glowworm-lit caves). Afterwards, drive to Raglan -New Zealand's surf capital -for the night.
Final morning in Raglan -explore the black sand beaches, watch surfers tackle the world-famous left-hand break, or grab breakfast at one of the laid-back local cafs. Return to Auckland. Tour concludes -officially one of the best weeks of your life.
