Glide beneath a breathtaking galaxy of natural glowworms on a silent underground river boat ride at the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. The Waitomo Caves are one of New Zealand's most spectacular and unique attractions -thousands of tiny glowworms (Arachnocampa luminosa) illuminate the cave ceiling like a starlit sky, creating an otherworldly experience.
Before arriving at Waitomo, you'll visit the Native Bird Sanctuary -home to one of New Zealand's most beloved creatures: the kiwi. See these nocturnal icons up close in their specially designed enclosure, along with many other native birds and reptiles.

Tour Itinerary
Depart Auckland CBD
Pick-up from designated stop on Queen Street, Auckland. Air-conditioned coach departs promptly -arrive 10 minutes early. Complimentary tea and coffee on board.
Native Bird Sanctuary
Arrive at the Native Bird Sanctuary. Meet kiwis, tuataras, native geckos, and many other taonga (treasured) species in this award-winning conservation facility. Approximately 90 minutes.
Lunch Break -Waitomo Village
Free time for lunch in Waitomo Village. A range of cafs and restaurants available (cost not included). Time to browse local Maori crafts and souvenirs.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour
Enter the spectacular limestone cave system. Your guide will lead you through cathedral-like chambers before you board a silent boat for the famous glowworm grotto -a ceiling alive with thousands of tiny blue-green lights. Photography is encouraged in permitted areas.
Depart Waitomo for Auckland
Re-board your air-conditioned coach for the return journey to Auckland. Scenic countryside views through the heart of the Waikato region.
Return to Auckland CBD
Drop-off at the original Queen Street departure point. Tour concludes -estimated arrival time (traffic dependent).

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before departure. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure will incur a 50% charge. No-shows will be charged in full. We recommend travel insurance for all bookings.
